Enceladus is a small yet interesting moon that orbits Saturn. Lately, Enceladus has been one of the most talked-about topics in science. Enceladus is known for being a small icy moon that has drawn scientific interest for some time.
New discoveries have made it even more interesting. Scientists have detected molecules containing oxygen and nitrogen. They are known to be the main ingredients for amino acids (building blocks of protein).
They have also found esters and ethers. These are compounds that form lipids (fats, waxes and oils). Lipids are important because they form the main structure of cell membranes, which protect the cells.
Building on from this scientists have concluded that the Enceledus may have the right chemical substances to support life under its icy and frozen surface.
