Earlier this week, the creator of the legendary indie video game Minecraft, Markus Persson (also known as Notch), has announced he is single handedly developing a second opus, but how?
On X this week, Notch has surprised the community by announcing a new video game he is developing. He has announced that it will be similar to Minecraft.
However, after Minecraft gained traction between 2009 to 2014, Notch has stated that if any project of his gains too much recognition, he will simply abandon it.
This turned in fact true, as in September of 2014,Notch sold his company, Mojang studios, which he owned 71% of the shares, to Microsoft for a whopping 2,500,000,000 USD, which he received 1,800,000,000 USD of. After that Persson left the company and disappeared from public view.
With few appearances in the last 10 years, Persson made an unexpected appearance on X this week announcing his new Opus, stating it will be similar to Minecraft.
However questions have been asked;
How will he pull this off?
Notch no longer has legal ownership over Minecraft and might get dragged to justice for plagiarism.
